A person was shot as Gastonia police responded to a report of an armed individual at a Buffalo Wild Wings on Tuesday night.
In a statement, city officials said police responded to the restaurant, at 422 Cox Road, at 10:15 p.m.

The suspect in the incident was shot by a police officer and was receiving medical treatment, officials said.
The officer was not injured.
Officials requested the State Bureau of Investigations conduct an independent investigation, the city said.
