BugFest, the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences long-running celebration of all things insects, will go virtual this year because of the ongoing pandemic. The annual event is dubbed the largest celebration of bugs in North America.
The free event is slated to run Sept. 14 to Sept. 19, and the downtown Raleigh museum has dubbed it a "virtual infestation." BugFest focuses on a specific kind of bug each year, and this year it's the fly.

The day-long event will run six days this year and offer a daily theme:

The museum is building a list of daily events that is designed for all ages. The schedule includes Bug Yoga For Kids on Sept. 15; a live honeybee hive inspections on Sept. 19; and a discussion about aquatic arthropods on Sept. 19, so far.
