Three people were killed Sunday in a crash that closed part of U.S. Highway 70 in Johnston County.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes near Stevens Chapel Church Road outside Pine Level around 2 a.m.

A 2008 Ford F-150, driven by Cameron Paige Yones, 43, of Goldsboro, was traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 70 when it struck a 2017 Ford F-150, driven by William Levi McClung, 21, of Princeton, head-on.
Both drivers were killed as a result of the crash. An additional passenger in the 2017 Ford F-150, Mark Ashley Braswell, 53, of Princeton, was also killed in the crash.
Authorities believe both drivers were under the influence of alcohol. They also said no one was wearing a seat belt in either trucks.
A witness who wished to remain anonymous spoke with WRAL News about what they saw.
"I found everybody in the road. There was one lady who had passed," the witness said. "When we got there, [a woman] was ejected, it looked like in front of a vehicle. The other vehicle was coming the wrong way and just hit the front of a black truck."
The crash remains under investigation.
