A man is in the hospital after police said he was stabbed Tuesday morning after shooting another man hours earlier in downtown Raleigh.
Just after 1 a.m., Raleigh police said officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Davie Street and Blount Street. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the 300 block of Fayetteville Street, and the victim fled to the intersection of Davie and Blount streets, where officers found him.
Radio traffic stated PNC Plaza had two bullet holes in windows. WRAL News cameras captured crews cleaning up broken glass where bullets went through windows.
On Tuesday, WRAL News spoke with Vicky Ismail, the co-founder of Carroll's Kitchen, about the shooting across the street from her restaurant.
"My initial reaction is, I'm not surprised," Ismail said. "We're here in the day.
"We're not here in the evening. but even in the daytime, while there's usually not a shooting, there's confrontations pretty much throughout the day."
Ismail said the Downtown Raleigh Alliance is helpful during the day.
"They're being very thorough, they're trying to be proactive, a lot of presence here, which is good," she said. "I appreciate that and that's good. but I think the bigger issue is why we have so many people that have nowhere to be and nothing to do?"
Around 7:04 a.m., officers responded to a stabbing call at the Chavis Way and East Lenoir Street intersection. When they arrived, they found 21-year-old Elija Prescott Kimbeni with stab wounds. EMS took him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the stabbing investigation, officers determined Kimbeni was the suspect in the shooting,
WRAL News looked at Raleigh police data for crimes reported in the 300 block of Fayetteville Street. This year, there have been 11 crimes along that stretch. The year 2015 was the peak with 41 crimes. The year 2021 was the lowest with nine.
Authorities charged Kimbeni with assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.
There is no suspect in custody related to the stabbing.
