Extra law enforcement officers will be standing by at several Orange County Schools on Friday after vague social media posts and images referenced a possible threat.

Additional Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies will be patrolling areas around schools out of an abundance of caution. Although no credible threat had been found as of Friday morning, the district and the sheriff's office are continuing to investigate the posts.

Other school districts have received similar reports in recent days. Smithfield-Selma High School in Smithfield and Hillside High School in Durham were placed on lockdown on Thursday.
