Franklin County deputies arrested a man Friday who was wanted for killing two people in Puerto Rico.
Mayteil Jomar Negron-Guevarez is also listed as a top 10 most-wanted criminal in Puerto Rico. Negron-Guevarez is due in court on Monday.

On Friday morning, a business owner in Youngsville had U.S. marshals, Franklin County sheriff’s deputies and K-9s show up to the property where they found a man who had left his home more than four years ago due to murder accusations.
Authorities found Negron-Guevarez hiding underneath a shed at Cedar Creek Landscape Supply at 2842 Cedar Creek Road in Youngsville.
WRAL News tried speaking with the Cedar Creek Landscape Supply owners, but they didn’t want to speak on camera. However, they said they were shocked and had no idea Negron-Guevarez was hiding on their property.
Negron-Guevarez was wanted for a March 2020 double murder in Puerto Rico. It is still unclear how he left the island and how long he has been in North Carolina.
On Friday, the U.S. Marshals Service issued a statement saying, “They may try to hide, but they should know that the U.S. Marshals will not stop until they find you and bring you to justice.”
Authorities transferred Negron-Guevarez to the Wake County Jail after his arrest. He does not have bond.
Negron-Guevarez will await extradition back to Puerto Rico.
