Graduation weekend is coming up for high school seniors in Wake County. From early May through mid June, thousands of seniors will walk across the stage.
Most commencement ceremonies will occur between June 13 and June 18 in downtown Raleigh. Hosting venues include the Raleigh Convention Center, the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts (formerly Duke Energy) and Memorial Auditorium, both in Meymandi Hall.
The weekend of June 13 coincides with celebrations for Juneteenth, Father's Day and other busy events. Keep these in mind as you make your way through a busier downtown Raleigh.

- Plan for traffic and arrive early. Nearby music venue, Red Hat Amphitheater may be holding concerts and will impact parking and traffic flow. You may want to check the event calendar before graduation weekend.
- It’s best to carpool to avoid an excess of cars downtown.
- Allow ample time to park, walk and be situated before the ceremony. Schools encourage arrival times an hour before commencement begins. Plan to be seated at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony’s start time.
- Students must be in place at least one hour before the ceremony begins.
