Dix Park is planting everyone’s favorite sunflowers again this year. Approximately 125,000 seeds were planted Friday on the 5-acre sunflower field at the park. The sunflowers are expected to bloom in late July.

The field serves as a summer pollinator habitat for butterflies, bees and other wildlife.  And after the flowers bloom the seeds from the flowers are left for birds and other wildlife to eat during the fall season.
