The Durham Bulls will be celebrating its 30th season at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park by giving away 5,030 free Sahlen's hot dogs on Sunday.
The hot dog giveaway is happening during the Bulls' game against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m.

The hot dog giveaway will start at 4 p.m. when the gates open. Upon entry, each fan will be given one hot dog. As the game starts, fans will be able to return to the front entrance to pick up an additional two hot dogs each time they return until all 5,030 hot dogs have been given away.
Sunday is also Kids Run the Bases Day, which means that children ages 12 years and younger can run the bases following the game.
The DBAP opened on April 6, 1995, for its inaugural season in front of 10,886 fans. The ballpark was built with a capacity to Carolina League standards. However, the land that the DBAP was built on had more room in case the ballpark needed to expand for Triple-A baseball.
In 1998, triple-A baseball came to Durham. The Bulls moved up from High-A to Triple-A, with the DBAP expanded to Triple-A standards.
Before the DBAP’s opening, the Bulls played from 1926-1994 at Durham Athletic Park (DAP) at 428 Morris St.
The Durham Bulls are also owned by Capitol Broadcasting Co., which is the parent company of WRAL.
