Warmth for Wake offers heating assistance to residents as temps drop below freezing

With temperatures dropping below freezing this weekend, Wake County residents who are struggling to heat their homes can get help.

 Warmth for Wake is a program in Wake County that provides firewood and space heaters to low-income residents during the coldest months of the year. The outreach program is sponsored by Wake County Health and Human Services.

WRAL spoke with Warmth for Wake representative Thad Woodard on what is the greatest need right now, and he said, "Space heaters. Space heaters, if you want to make a gift and if you're able to do that today, tonight, tomorrow, only new space heaters, nothing that's used."
