Nash County Public Schools is warning parents about a fraudulent message causing fears that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents could pull children from classrooms in the county's school district.
The fake email was sent out to parents on Monday.

In a message to parents, NCPS advised parents that the message did not come from the district, though it was designed to appear that way.
"We take this matter seriously and are actively investigating the situation. If you receive any suspicious messages claiming to be from NCPS, please do not engage with them and report them to us immediately."
The news comes after a 21-word social media post sent parents into a frenzy Monday in Edgecombe County, causing similar fears about ICE entering the schools.
The post, which falsely claimed that all Mexican students were being called to the office, quickly circulated online, prompting anxious calls from parents and community members.
