Charges against an Orange County farm owner accused of allowing underage drinking at a party on his property have been dropped.
In a post on Facebook, Smokehouse Valley Farm officials confirmed the charges against Dwight Poole, 60, were dropped after authorities said there was “no basis for further legal action.”

“This outcome reaffirms Mr. Poole’s position and allows him to move forward without the burden of these allegations,” the post read in part.
According to warrants, he was charged with seven counts of aiding and abetting underage drinking and two misdemeanor charges of selling alcoholic beverages without a permit.
The charges stem from a May 2 party at his property where the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said there were more than 2,500 people and more than 70 calls to 911.
The 911 calls for help included for someone unconscious, neighbors who couldn’t sleep, and a pregnant woman having contractions who was unable to get out of her driveway.

His wife, Rose Poole, also faced charges related to the May 2 party. Those charges were also dropped in November due to insufficient evidence.
