Raleigh Police detectives on Friday arrested a 16-year-old  in connection with a shooting in the Brier Creek area on the 4th of July.

The teen was charged as an adult on the following counts:

            He was processed as an adult at the Wake County Detention Center, then transferred to a juvenile detention facility.

            Raleigh Police responded to Brier Creek at approximately 10:27 p.m. July 4 for reports of a fight near the movie theater and nearby stores. Detectives said the incident stemmed from a '"teen takeover." Two adults were injured, one was hit by gunfire and the other was injured by glass shattered durning the shooting.

            Later that night at 1:34 a.m. July 5, officers responded to multiple shootings in and around the Glenwood South entertainment district.

            Raleigh Police have filed juvenile petitions for four juveniles in connection to the shootings at Brier Creek and Glenwood South. It is unclear if the 16-year-old is among those facing juveniles petitions. At least 29 adults are also charged in connection with the shootings.
