Moore County deputies arrested an 82-year-old man last week at his home in connection to a 1979 murder in Maryland.
Roger Brown, 82, is accused of killing Kathryn Donohue in 1979, the sheriff’s office said. Donohue was 31 years old.

Brown is charged with first-degree murder, rape and related offenses.
Moore County deputies and the FBI agents arrested Brown on March 11.
Authorities found Donohue’s body on March 3, 1979, in a parking lot in Glenarden, Maryland.
In late 2024, the Prince George’s County Police Department in Maryland and the FBI Baltimore field office used DNA analysis to identify a relative of the person suspected of the murder. An investigation led to Brown’s identification as the suspect.
“This case serves as a reminder that we will never give up seeking the truth, no matter how much time has passed,” said Prince George's County Police Chief Malik Aziz during a Tuesday news conference.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office said Brown lived in Hyattsville, Maryland, at the time of the alleged murder.
Brown remains in North Carolina pending extradition to Prince George’s County, Maryland.
