A fire Saturday night damaged several apartments in Moore County.

According to authorities, firefighters responded to a fire around 6:30 p.m. on Churchill Downs Drive. The first responding unit said they saw flames coming from a two-story apartment complex on the street.

According to authorities at the scene, at least eight apartments were damaged in the fire and 19 people were affected. Several firefighters responded to the fire, including from Moore County, Hoke County and Fort Liberty.

According to the Aberdeen Fire Department, one firefighter was injured in the fire and was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be released later in the evening.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
