All clear after bomb threat at Peak Charter Academy in Apex, child identified as person of interest

Apex police have identified a child as a person of interest for a bomb threat on Monday at Peak Charter Academy.

Police responded to the school around 3:30 p.m. Monday, determined it was all clear and helped with traffic while school was let out for the day.

It’s unclear whether the child is a student at Peak Charter Academy.

Calling in a bomb threat is a class H felony which can range from four to 25 months in prison.

An Apex spokesperson said parents are encouraged to talk with their children about the seriousness of false reports as most school systems have serious ramifications set.
