Apex police arrested a man Thursday night after he was accused of stealing three vehicles from Lee County.
Shortly after receiving a call about a “suspicious occupied vehicle,” Apex police were called to a construction site around 8:10 p.m. near Barrier Ridge Way off Olive Chapel Road.

When they arrived, police said officers found the driver, Bobby Alee McIntyre, 25, of High Point. After an investigation, officers determined he stole three vehicles, including a 2018 Ford Flex, the vehicle he was found in, according to police.
Apex police charged McIntyre with felony possession of stolen goods/property, court documents showed, but was later dismissed.
According to court documents, Sanford police also charged McIntyre with:
- Three counts of felony larceny of a motor vehicle
- Two counts of misdemeanor larceny
- Failure to report an accident
- Hit and run - leave the scene
- Failure to stop at a red light
Police are thanking the public for their assistance.
“Officers can’t be everywhere all the time, and this is a great example of how calling 911 when something doesn’t seem right can make a real difference,” Apex police wrote in a press release. “Thanks to the resident who spoke up, your awareness helps stop crimes like this and keeps Apex safe.”
