A Wake County man is facing multiple charges after he was accused of breaking into several cars and leading deputies on a chase.

Zhyere James, 19, was arrested on Tuesday after deputies were called to reports of car break-ins, thefts and a stolen car at several locations across the county in January.

Deputies said a stolen Dodge Ram was found by a Wake County K-9 deputy who attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Deputies said the driver did not stop and led authorities on a chase. The chase ended after deputies lost sight of the car.

After investigating, deputies obtained a warrant for James. He was charged with:

• Five counts of breaking and/or entering a motor vehicle

• Two counts of breaking and/or entering a motor vehicle with theft

• One count of larceny of a motor vehicle

• One count of felony flee to elude

• One count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle

James was arrested on Tuesday at Raleigh-Durham International Airport by Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority police. He is being held in the Wake County Detention Center.

Deputies said the investigation is still ongoing.
