A serious crash led to delays on U.S. Highway 70 between Garner and Clayton on Monday morning.
The crash was reported around 8 a.m. near Auburn Knightdale Road. The westbound direction was completely blocked, with multiple cars and emergency responders in the roadway, and an eastbound lane was also closed.

Sky 5 flew overhead at 8:45 a.m., showing a LKQ box truck on top of a blue sedan that had crashed against the guardrail in the grassy median. The blue car was crushed, and a tow truck was at the scene.
Traffic was backed up for some time. The road reopened around 12 p.m.
The State Highway Patrol said a total of five vehicles were involved, and two people were transported to the hospital with injuries.
