Raleigh police are investigating after 24 cars were broken into over the span of one week.
Police said the break-ins happened between July 13 and July 20 in the Brier Creek area. Of the 24 cars broken into, 3 owners reported stolen items including money and four firearms.

“When the police officer arrived, he said we were 1 of 10 victims within the hour that evening," said one victim who preferred to remain anonymous.
The victim said he hasn't been able to drive his truck since the break-in happened since the necessary parts to repair his car window arrive.
"It's not like they keep every piece of glass in stock," he said. "My truck has been sitting in the garage for a week."
Shoppers at Brier Creek Commons call the slew of break-ins alarming. Many tell WRAL News security in the area should be increased.
"If you look at some of your other malls in the area, obviously they are indoor malls and so forth, but some of them have their own police forces or their own security forces that patrol the area. Whether it’s walking through the area or driving through," another victim said.
In light of 31 cars being broken into at several fitness centers and Raleigh churches over last week, Raleigh police is urging people to follow their 9 p.m. routine.
Police said people should never leave their car keys in vehicles and always lock the car when they are leaving. Police also said people should avoid leaving any valuable items and firearms in their cars, and should always park in well lit areas.
WRAL News has reached out to Raleigh police asking if there are any suspects or persons of interest have been identified. We also contacted Brier Creek Commons, asking if security in area would be increased.
