Deputies in Harnett County are investigating after people tried to break into a residence near Campbell University's campus.
The WRAL Breaking News Tracker was on campus Sunday night just before 11:30 p.m. Our crew saw a car crashed into the traffic circle in the middle of campus on Leslie Campbell Avenue.

Deputies said the crash happened after someone chased the suspects who tried to break into an off-campus residence on Sunday night on Marshbanks Road.
Deputies said the suspects fled. No one was hurt.
Investigators believe the break-in was targeted. The university sent out a text alert to the main campus community as a precaution.
