Chapel Hill officials released updated numbers on Tuesday of the reported damage Tropical Depression Chantal caused.
Officials said it would cost roughly $26,534,457 to repair damage from the storm. Officials said this amount is a part of the $30 million preliminary estimate Orange County Emergency Services predicted would repair damage in the county.

Damage estimates at the shopping centers was initially to cost more than $6.5 million. The shopping centers suffered significant flood damage, with some residents telling WRAL News their businesses were a total loss.

Chapel Hill leaders on Thursday are teaming up to host a flood resource event for businesses impacted by destructive flooding from Tropical Depression Chantal. The event will be held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday at Innovate Carolina Junction, 136 E. Rosemary St.
Any business in the area that is dealing with damage is welcome to attend.
