A portion of Clayton Boulevard was closed in both directions Wednesday after an 18-wheeler crashed into a power pole.
According to a post on the town of Clayton Facebook, the crash happened between Walmart and Shotwell Road.

Officials said downed powerlines are in the roadway along with the pole and truck.
It is unclear how the truck crashed into the pole at this time. Clayton fire and police are on the scene.
Duke Energy crews are working to restore power in the area. According to the Duke Energy online outage map, power in that area is expected to be restored by 6: 30 p.m.
Clayton officials are asking people to avoid the area.
