A 12-year-old is dead and a man in custody after a gathering in Clayton over the weekend.
Dispatchers described a "super chaotic" scene, according to Broadcastify.com radio traffic.

"There are multiple people out there. It's physical," one dispatcher could be heard telling officers who were on the way to a report of a fight with weapons involved on Friday evening in the 300 block of Commodore Street.
While officers were talking to witnesses, they saw some people running from an apartment building and yelling that someone has been shot.
Inside that apartment, officers found the 12-year-old child with a gunshot wound. He died of his injuries.
There were dozens of people in the apartment, according to police, and witnesses told officers that some of those people were trying to hide weapons when a gun went off, hitting the child.
Harnett County Schools told WRAL News that the 12 year-old was enrolled in that district, and school support staff were on campus to assist students on Monday.
Monday morning, the man wanted in connection with the shooting surrendered to authorities.
Ty’rin Anthony Zah’rel Washington, 20, of Kenly, is charged with involuntary manslaughter. Washington was held without bond pending a court appearance on Tuesday.
Officers said Washington had the gun in his hand when it was fired, but he fled the scene before they could arrest him.
