Crash leads to gas leak along Cheek Road at Falls Lake

A dump truck crashed on Monday afternoon and started spilling fuel into Falls Lake in Wake County.

Sky 5 flew over the crash on Cheek Road and saw fuel on the surface of the lake. Sky 5 showed two dump tracks were involved.

Cheek Road is closed in both directions.

The Northern Wake Fire Department said one truck rear-ended the other, causing one of the truck's saddle fuel tanks to rupture. It led to a motor oil to leak from the truck, according to the Northern Wake Fire Department.

The oil then leaked between the joints of the Cheek Road bridge into the lake.

No one was injured in the crash, according to the Northern Wake Fire Department.

Hazmat crews responded to the crash.
