At 8 p.m. on Monday, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Hoke County Sheriff's Office that the stolen white Nissan  Rogue was located.

They reported the woman who was picked up in Spring Lake was found safe and she said she was not abducted.

As of that update Monday night, the CCSO said this case is under investigation. 

The CCSO was investigating reports of a possible abduction on Monday morning.

At 10:49 a.m., a woman was seen walking along Lillington Highway wearing a black shirt and shorts without any shoes, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said three men put the woman into a white Nissan Rogue at the Spring Lake Auto Center at 1209 Lillington Highway in Spring Lake.

The sheriff’s office said a man was seen carrying the woman over his shoulder and putting her in the back seat. According to the sheriff’s office, another man was seen holding her to keep her from escaping the SUV after she kicked open the door.

The SUV then sped off toward Harnett County, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. It has South Carolina plates 834-ABQ.

Deputies learned the SUV was stolen from Florence, South Carolina.
