The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is seeking a man for questioning about a shooting death that happened exactly four years.
On Oct. 7, 2021, then-25-year-old Kenneth Miles Jr. was fatally shot at least three times at close range in front of his home. He was known to his family as “Pappa” or “Popeye” and to his friends as “Ali.”

After the shooting, Sharon Gilliam, Miles' mother, said that the ordeal started with an argument that she believed didn't even involve her son.
"Guy got mad with him because he had it out with another guy," she said. "He approached my son, and they had words, and he was like, 'Man, I don't got nothing to do with that. That's between you and that guy. Whatever y'all got going on.'"
On Tuesday, exactly four years after his death, CCSO released details that detectives believe Miles actually knew his suspected offender.
Detectives are searching for Derames Freeman, 35, for questioning.
