Two people are dead and one is hurt after a house fire early Sunday morning in Siler City.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the Siler City Fire Department.

"We pray for the injured, and we mourn the loss of our fellow citizens," the fire department said in a Facebook post Sunday. "We also ask for prayers for all the first responders who worked tirelessly to perform rescues."
