Earlier this week, animal lovers were distraught to hear about a dog being pulled from a dumpster at The Shoppes at Lakewood in Durham.
Now, "Kingston" is ready for a new chapter in a new home with caring owners. The Animal Protection Society of Durham has listed Kingston as available for adoption on its website.

Kingston is described as "shy and sensitive," but sweet and eager to win your heart. The pit bull mix was seen getting a bath and looked refreshed afterward. He was frightened initially, but eventually warmed up to the caretakers, who showered him with pets and belly rubs.
Stacy Bluth with the Animal Protection Society of Durham said Kingston is starting to come out of his shell.
"He's doing really well," Bluth said. "He's going to be neutered and microchipped Friday and available to go home on Saturday."
Durham County Animal Services is trying to identify a person of interest seen on surveillance video near the dumpster before Kingston was found.
