A Durham County EMS employee faces dozens of charges of possession of child pornography.

Andrew Childs, 40, is facing 93 new charges for third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. According to arrest warrants, Childs was in possession of 93 individual files of child pornography dating back to Jan. 1, 2017.

In the latest case, Childs was not issued a bond for the 93 charges he faces. In total, Childs faces 127 charges.

Authorities arrested Childs a second time on May 26 and charged him with 29 counts of disseminating harmful material and 10 charges of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The Durham County District Attorney dismissed nine charges in this case.

Childs was issued a bond totaling $55,000 and was released.

Childs was arrested a third time on July 6 and charged with first- and second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, indecent liberties with a child and disseminating harmful material. He posted a $100,000 bond the next day.

Tuesday's arrest marks Childs' fourth for similar charges. 

A Durham County spokesperson said that Childs, who was employed as an EMS district supervisor, was hired by the county in August 2009. He was fired on June 13, 2025.
