Firefighters battled a house fire in Durham on Friday morning.
The fire was at a home in the 800 block of Alston Avenue. Heavy flames were seen coming from a duplex around 3:30 a.m.

Photos from the battalion chief showed large flames coming out of the home.
The battalion chief told WRAL that several inactive hydrants were in the area, causing difficulties for crews. The fire was contained as of 4:15 a.m. The house is believed to be vacant.
