A man is dead after hit by train in Durham, police investigate

Durham police are investigating after a person was hit by a train on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called shortly after 5 p.m. to West Pettigrew Street and Campus Drive. Police said they received reports that a man who was walking along the train tracks had died.

Police have not released the name of the person who died. The investigation is still ongoing.
