All 20 students aboard a school bus that flipped are expected back in class on Tuesday, according to Durham Public Schools.
Monday’s crash along Johnson Mill Road near South Lowell Road sent 10 students to Duke Hospital with minor injuries.

“We are relieved to learn that our scholars are being treated for minor injuries," said DPS Superintendent Anthony Lewis. "The accident is under investigation, and our students are being released to their families.”
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the driver of the school bus will be cited for failure to maintain lane control. Authorities and the district had not named the driver as of Tuesday afternoon.
Durham Public Schools said every driver is required to complete a background check and have a screening of driving records. The district also requires four days of commercial driving license class endorsement training and four days of behind-the-wheel training with a Department of Transportation-certified trainer. Plus, the district said drivers must complete guided and mandated recertification through the Department of Transportation every three years.
The school bus was traveling around a curve and ran off the road on Monday, according to the State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the school bus driver over-corrected, and the weight of the bus caused it to overturn and hit a tree before coming to a stop in the middle of the road.
Durham Public Schools said the bus was coming from Mangum Elementary School.
Parents told WRAL News their hearts dropped when they received the notification about the crash from the school.
The investigation is ongoing.
