Halifax County woman accused of embezzling $400,000 from employer

Granddaughter of Jack H. Winslow, founder of Jack H. Winslow Farm, Inc  is facing multiple counts of felony embezzlement.

Sarah Winslow Sykes, 58 of Hobgood, is accused of embezzling over $426,000 from her employer Jack H. Winslow Farms, Inc., according to arrest warrants. 

The Halifax County Sheriff's office said it uncovered the embezzlement during an investigation of a former employee accessing the employer's bank accounts. During the investigation it was discovered that around $426,000 was taken between 1997 and 2002.

Sykes was charged with six counts of felony embezzlement and given a $50,000 bond.

She will appear in court in July.
