A man is in custody after police said he barricaded himself inside a home for hours on Friday in Fayetteville.
Fayetteville police were originally dispatched to an armed incident along the 7600 block of Sable Drive on August 10. Investigators later identified 40-year-old Robert Richards, who pointed a gun at the victim and refused to let them leave during the incident.

Police served Richards an arrest warrant on Friday morning. During the arrest Richards barricaded himself inside the home and refused lawful orders to exit. This led to the Fayetteville Police Department's Crisis Negotiation Team and Emergency Response Team being called to assist.
Officers were able to take Richards out of the home peacefully after several hours of negotiation.
He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for evaluation due to heat exposure.
Richards was charged with second-degree kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on no bond. His next court appearance is on September 9.
