A portion of Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh will be closed for construction over the weekend.
The City of Raleigh's Transportation Department said Fayetteville St. from City Plaza to Davie St. will be closed as crews will be placing a crane to remove Verizon's antennas on the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel's roof.

The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 8) and end at 7 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 9).
Drivers who want to go north will take a left onto Wilmington St., a left onto Davie St. and a right onto Fayetteville St.
Drivers who want to go south will take a right onto Davie St., a left onto Salisbury St. and a left onto Lenoir St.
Pedestrian access to businesses will remain open. Sidewalks will be close in front of 420 Fayetteville St only. Transit routes will not be affected.
