A federal judge has sentenced 26-year-old Kenneth Maurice Quick Jr. to three life sentences in addition to 83 years in federal prison for the murder of two service members.
Quick was convicted of first-degree murder of an active-duty soldier stationed at Fort Bragg and a former soldier. He was also charged with drug conspiracy, and obstruction of justice charges.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Quick agreed to buy cocaine from one of the active-duty soldiers but never intended to pay for it.
Prosecutors said Quick shot the soldier and then forced the other soldier to drive to a remote wooded area of Fort Bragg to dispose of the body. Quick then shot the second soldier.
WRAL previously reported this when Quick was first arrested.
The murders were also the focus of a book called The Fort Bragg Cartel by Seth Harp, a military veteran and Rolling Stone contributing editor.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Reid Davis said investigators with the FBI and U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division followed the evidence and built a detailed timeline of Quick's crimes.
“Three life sentences for eight federal crimes say very loudly and clearly, the FBI and our law enforcement partners will make certain violent criminals are always held accountable,” Davis said.
The FBI and U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division led the investigations in the case.
