Goldsboro police responded to a shooting that wounded a woman early Thursday morning.
Around 1 a.m., officers responded to a shooting alert on West Oak Street. Police said they learned a woman had been shot and found her near Vanderbilt Circle.

Police said the woman suffered a gunshot wound and was first taken to UNC Health Wayne before being flown to ECU Health Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown.
