The sound of gunshots caused a stampede and subsequently a seizure at a shopping center in Morrisville early Sunday morning.
The Morrisville Police Department responded to a call for shots fired around 2 a.m. outside an event space in a shopping center off Davis Drive.

When officers arrived, they found about 20 people in the parking lot who said that someone had been shooting a gun outside the venue, which caused a panicked stampede. It's unclear what sort of event was happening, and if the stampede was inside or outside the venue.
In the panic, police said one person fell and suffered a seizure. That person was taken to WakeMed and is expected to recover.
Police said there were no reports of damage to property and no one else was injured. Broadcastify radio traffic did mention that someone might have been shot, but that information is not confirmed by police.
This investigation remains ongoing and police did not provide any further information.
