A Harnett County man, who is a registered sex offender, is facing new charges of sex offenses with children.
Steven Alan Vest, 43, of Lillington, was first registered as a sex offender in August 2004 after being convicted of indecent liberties with a 14-year-old, according to the NC State Bureau of Investigation's Sex Offender Registry.

Court records show that Vest is charged with:
- 27 counts of indecent liberties with a child
- 19 counts of a sexual offense with a child
Court documents show the incidents happened between 2008 and 2019.
Vest is due in court in January on these charges.
That comes before a scheduled trial in March 2026 on other charged involving sex crimes against children and crimes against nature. Those offenses are said to have occurred between 2016 and 2021, according to court documents.
