Hit-and-run damaged outdoor seating at downtown Raleigh dessert bar

The Raleigh Police Department responded to a hit-and-run at 1:49 a.m. Friday morning.

Video showed damage to the outdoor patio area of Bittersweet, a dessert and cocktail lounge on Martin Street in downtown Raleigh.

Raleigh police said that propane tanks were also hit near the location of the crash.

"Definitely don't like to see that type of behavior around here," said Jordan Hart, a worker at All-Embracing Barber & Beauty Shop across the street from Bittersweet. "I hope whoever was in that, they're okay."

Raleigh Police did not share any information about the car involved in the crash, or the driver.

WRAL reached out to Bittersweet to learn if they were operating under normal business hours, and to learn about the impact of the crash.
