A dog on the loose in a Wake County neighborhood has bitten two people, including a young child.

According to Holly Springs Police, the dog has been roaming near the Linksland Drive and Salem Ridge Road area.
Police are advising residents not to approach the dog and said they are working to capture it.
Ben Doetzer, a Holly Springs resident, said he's staying on high alert.
"The last few days, I've been wondering if I'm going to come across the dog, if he's going to make its way over," Doetzer said.
Neighbors told WRAL News the dog reportedly bit a man and young girl.
Karee White lives near the area where the dog has been spotted and said she fears for people.
"We really have to find that dog because more people are going to get hurt if we don't," White said.
Neighbors said the dog has been on the run for nearly two weeks and are hopeful for its capture.
"I love dogs and feel bad for the dog, of course, but it's scary for young kids [and] people in the neighborhood," Doetzer told WRAL News.
Holly Springs Police shared the following statement with WRAL News in response to neighbor complaints:
A stray dog has been roaming near the Linksland Drive and Salem Ridge Road area, near the powerline section. Holly Springs officers are working diligently to safely, and humanely, capture the dog
The dog is not aggressively approaching people; it has only been near people when offered food or shelter. There have been two reports of bites from people who have tried to touch the dog.
