Remains found in Fayetteville ravine identified as missing man

Human remains found in Fayetteville earlier this month have been identified as a previously missing person.

The state medical examiner identified the body found in a ravine near Plymouth Street as Donald Lee Gordon.

Gordon, 58, was reported as a missing person with Fayetteville police in September. Two fishermen found his body on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Cumberland County deputies started a death investigation after responding to a 911 call.
