Governor Josh Stein on Monday posted an excused absence note for all North Carolinians following the Canes' win in the Stanley Cup.
The post read, "To all those who've been up celebrating the Carolina Hurricanes - you're offically excused from your duties this morning."

The tongue-in-cheek post features an official letterhead from the desk of Gov. Josh Stein.
The letter reads in part:
Please be advised that on Monday, June 15th at the request/urging of the red-bedecked North Carolina Governor's Office, _________ should be granted an offical excuse from all responsibilites that may interfere with celebrating the Carolina Hurricanes' win of the Stanley Cup.
Celebrations of the Canes win of the Stanley Cup are expected to continue for weeks to come.
This Saturday, the city of Raleigh will host a parade in honor of the win, beginning at 11 a.m. in downtown Raleigh.
