One man is dead and another in custody after a shooting in a parking deck at Cary's Fenton social district Friday night.
According to the Cary Police Department, officers were called around 8:45 p.m. to the Green parking deck there, where they found Cory Edward McNeill inside a vehicle, dead from a gunshot wound.

Shortly thereafter, Malik Emaje Scott-McClarin called Cary police to surrender in connection with the shooting.
According to his arrest warrant, Scott-McClarin was an employee of Sunstates Security, a private security provider based in Raleigh.
On Saturday, at least one guard wearing a Sunstates patch was visible on Fenton property. WRAL News emailed and called Sunstates to ask whether Scott-McClarin worked security for Fenton and whether he was on duty at the time of the shooting. No one was available to answer those questions.
Police Scott-McClarin and McNeill knew each other, and that there was no further threat to anyone else. They asked anyone with additional information related to the shooting to contact them at 919-469-4012 or through an anonymous tip with Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-460-4636.
The shooting at Fenton was the second in two days in Cary. A woman was hospitalized after a shooting Thursday night on Berry Chase Way.
The shooting in Cary was at least the second at a busy shopping area Friday night, just days before Christmas. In Lumberton, a 42-year-old woman was shot and killed at a Walmart on the 5000 block of Fayetteville Road. Police there also said it was an isolated incident with no further threat to the public, although they did not immediately make an arrest or release the name or description of a suspect.
