Police said a person surrendered to officers Thursday after they closed off a shopping center in Wake Forest.
Multiple WRAL viewers reported seeing a large police scene near the Target inside the Capital Plaza shopping center on Retail Drive in Wake Forest, adding that it appeared the entire shopping center was blocked off.

Police officers told WRAL News they closed part of Retail Drive from Dr. Calvin Jones Highway at the NC 98 Bypass to Warmover Street as they tried talking to the person, who was barricaded inside his car.
In a release, police said the person surrendered peacefully and will be transported to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
