Monday marks one month since police say two lawyers were shot near the Wake County courthouse.
In the weeks since, attorneys who frequently work at the courthouse say the incident still weighs heavy.

"That day is one that won't be forgotten," attorney Lee Turner said. He was at the courthouse when the shooting happened outside. "When you see an argument occurring, you don't just walk past it now. You kind of hang there a little bit to make sure everything's ok with those people," Turner said.
A grand jury last week indicted Gwendolyn White for the shooting of lawyers Mary Harris and Jeffrey Whitely. She's charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and two counts of assault inflicting serious bodily injury.
Harris and Whitely were representing the Rolesville Police Department in a legal battle with White, according to court records.
Raleigh police say a hearing in the civil case became contentious before White returned to her car, got a handgun and shot the attorneys as they exited the building.
In recent court filings, White's lawyer has raised questions about her mental health with one motion stating she claims to not remember the shooting.
Turner remains confident in security inside the courthouse. Outside is where he says the mentality has changed.
"You just didn't expect something like that to happen. as you walk out of here, I think more lawyers and [district attornies] now might have their head on a little more of a swivel watching what's going on around and just taking note," Turner said. "We're just paying more attention."
White's lawyer did not immediately respond to WRAL's request for comment. White's next court date is set for July 13.
