Public utilities crews in Halifax County are working to repair a leak in the community's water supply.
Some people in the Hollister and Medoc communities are experiencing low water pressure and outages, according to County Manager Dia Denton. There is no restoration timeline, but oficials said staff are dedicated to locating, isolating and repairing any leaks.

On Tuesday morning, the county released the following statement:
"A leak in the Medoc/Hollister communities led to a significant reduction in pressure across a large portion of the system. Weather conditions have impacted our ability to locate and isolate the leak. In order to maintain pressure in the majority of the system we had to isolate the pressure zone for those two towers at approximately 9 p.m. on February 2. Road conditions and concern for the safety of employees led to the decision to resume efforts in the morning around daylight."
Once water service is restored, Halifax County Public Utilities advises customers to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
Water customers are also encouraged to conserve water whenever possible.
