A man is in custody on Sunday after a shooting sent another man to the hospital in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, officers were called around 12:26 a.m. to a home on Raleigh Road. When they arrived, they helped Highway Patrol and the Granville County Sheriff's Office secure the area.

While at the scene, officers found a man with five gunshot wounds. The man was taken to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
Officers searched two homes on Raleigh Road, as well as the surrounding areas of the initial crime scene, and found several weapons and ammunition, as well as cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
After their initial investigation, officers arrested 22-year-old Demarcus Lotrelle Wilkerson, and charged him with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and one count of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling.
Wilkerson was sent to the Granville County Jail, where he remains under no bond.
