Police officers are investigating a shooting Tuesday night in Fuquay-Varina that sent a man to the hospital.
According to the Fuquay-Varina Police Department, the shooting happened around 7:39 p.m. in the 400 block of McLean Street. When police officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot.

Police said he was taken to the hospital with and is expected to be OK.
Police said their preliminary investigation determined the man was a passenger in a vehicle with two more people. As their vehicle pulled up in between two homes, a large vehicle pulled up and an unknown suspect fired several shots into their vehicle.
Police said the suspect left the scene, adding they presently didn't have information on the suspect or their vehicle available.
